Tamil star Vijay’s personal life has come under intense public scrutiny amid ongoing developments in his divorce case with his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam. The situation has drawn significant attention, especially given its timing close to the political landscape.
The latest hearing, scheduled for April 20, saw Vijay absent from the Chengalpattu Family Welfare Court. As a result, the court has once again adjourned the case, with the next hearing now set for June 15. This marks the second adjournment, after the case was earlier moved from February to April. The court has directed both Vijay and Sangeetha to be present without fail during the next hearing.
According to Sangeetha’s petition, she has raised allegations of an extramarital relationship, claiming she became aware of it in 2021. She has stated that the situation caused emotional distress and further discomfort due to Vijay’s continued public appearances and travels.
What makes the issue more sensitive is Vijay’s transition into politics with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). With his growing political presence, personal matters are now attracting wider public and media attention.
Vijay and Sangeetha share a long history, having known each other since the mid-1990s before getting married in 1998 in the UK, followed by a traditional ceremony in Chennai. They have two children and had largely maintained a private family life until now. Meanwhile, their son Jason Sanjay is preparing for his debut as a director.
As the case continues to unfold, it remains a closely watched issue, with fans hoping for an amicable resolution.
