Kollywood actor Vijay Sethupathi has strongly responded to the casting couch allegations recently made against him on social media, a topic that has now become the talk of the town. The accusations came from a user named Ramya Mohan, who alleged that Sethupathi was part of a toxic culture in the Tamil film industry, involving drugs, manipulation, and casting couch practices. The posts even claimed that a woman, now a popular media personality, had been exploited by him and is currently undergoing rehabilitation. However, these posts were later deleted.
Addressing the issue during the promotions of his upcoming film Sir Madam, Vijay Sethupathi dismissed the allegations as completely baseless and “filthy.” He stated that people who know him personally would never believe such accusations and suggested that the accuser was only seeking attention. The actor also revealed that his team has filed a complaint with the cybercrime authorities.
Sethupathi added that such smear campaigns have been targeting him for the last seven years and admitted that these false claims have caused emotional pain to his family and close friends. Known for his acclaimed performances in films like Vikram and Uppena, the actor emphasized that he will not be deterred by such baseless attacks.
