Auditor VIjaya Sai Reddy, second accused in the disproportionate assets case of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has surrendered in the CBI court here, as directed by the Supreme Court. The court remanded him to 17 days judicial custody.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court upheld the contention of the CBI that it could not continue with the investigation if he was out and cancelled Vijaya Sai’s bail. But when he had pleaded that he had to perform his daughter’s marriage, the court asked him to surrender by June 5, in the lower court. Accordingly, Vijaya Sai Reddy surrendered before the CBI court here on Wednesday.
