Vijaysai Reddy makes a lot of noise over Steel Plant Bandh

Recently, the media asked YSRCP member and MP Vijayasai Reddy to state the ruling party’s stance on the privatisation of the Visakha Steel Plant. Despite being asked about the matter directly, Vijayasai refused to give a direct answer to the question. In the meantime, the YSRCP leadership decided to extend its support to the bandh called in opposition to the privatisation of the steel plant. This was announced to the media by Minister Perni Nani yesterday.

Right after the announcement, Vijayasi Reddy quickly changed his stance and said that he was leading the bandh and the protest against the privatisation of the steel plant. He was seen forming a human chain with a few people and had a mike in his hand, where he was seen advising the people on how the protest was supposed to be carried out.

While students, other opposition parties, those working in the steel plant, and many others were taking part in the protest, Vijayasai Reddy chose to focus more on emphasizing that he was leading the protest. In that process, Vijayasi Reddy faced a few difficulties, especially with the workers association belonging to the communist party. When one of the workers asked Vijayasi to withdraw the deal YSRCP struck with POSCO, Vijayasai said that there was no such deal. Upon the worker insisting on the deal’s existence, Vijayasai is said to have asked the worker to not speak without any power and walked out fuming with anger. At another place, Vijayasai is said to have gotten exasperated by those belonging to other opposition parties taking part in the protest.

Vijayasai Reddy is said to have had no answer when asked to show people belonging to his party taking part in the protest. When he failed to do so, everyone else is said to have been surprised at the way the MP was acting, despite not having any backup. Many members of other parties and other protest groups have come to the opinion that Vijayasai is a man of only words and no action. Whatever his plan may have been, the MP managed to be in the news and promote himself with the help of his social media handles and other media affiliated with him.
