Virat Kohli Childhood Coach Counters Ganguly Statement

The Indian team went through a captaincy change earlier this week when Hitman Rohit Sharma was made the ODI captain, while Virat Kohli will continue to lead the team in the longest format of the game. Rohit Sharma will be leading the team in white-ball formats ODI and the T20 formats.

Despite Virat Kohli showing interest in leading the team in the 50-over format, Virat Kohli was sacked as the skipper which had surprised one and all as no one knows why the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) did not consider the interests of the Superstar cricketer, Virat Kohli. His fans were in shock with the BCCI’s decision.

Forget about fans, coach Rajkumar Sharma who trained Virat Kohli in his childhood also expressed his shock over the decision. He opined that the team of the selectors should have had a word with the player. His comments are now going viral.

Responding to the change in the captaincy, the coach opined that when Virat Kohli announced his decision to step down as the skipper, the selectors would have spoken to him on this and asked to leave the captaincy or both formats or continue as the skipper.

He also countered the statements of Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly and said that as per his knowledge the BCCI did not ask Virat Kohli to not leave the captaincy. No comments were made in this regard. The statement given by Sourav Ganguly is a big surprise to me, he said.

Virat Kohli’s childhood coach also wondered why the selection committee did not give any proper reason behind making Rohit Sharma the ODI captain in place of Virat Kohli. No one knows how the management is looking at things. There is no clarification or transparency from the management side. If there would have been transparency, it would be good, he said.

Giving a new twist, the coach said he did not speak to Virat Kohli after the change in the captaincy as his phone is switched off. Don’t know the reasons why his phone is off, the coach said.
