Producer and actor Vishnu Vishal, who currently stars in the successful psycho-thriller Aaryan, has made a strong appeal to his fellow actors and artistes — asking them to consider reducing their remuneration to help the film industry thrive.
The actor shared this view during the Thanksgiving meet of Aaryan. When a journalist asked him, as a successful producer with three back-to-back hits, what advice he would offer to other producers struggling at the box office, Vishnu Vishal gave a thoughtful reply.
“I won’t make suggestions to producers,” he said. “But I will say this to heroes and artistes — please reduce your remuneration. Only then can we spend more on the making of a film. That’s all I want to say.”
His comments resonated widely across the industry, as several producers and directors have previously raised similar concerns about soaring actor fees affecting production quality. Director and producer S. P. Sakthivel was among the first to applaud the statement, posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Finally, much-needed CHANGE!”
Meanwhile, Aaryan continues its theatrical run with strong audience response. From Tuesday, the film began screening with a modified climax, trimming its runtime by about four to five minutes. The movie, directed by Praveen K., was released in Tamil Nadu on October 31, 2025, and its Telugu version is slated for release on November 7.
In Aaryan, Vishnu Vishal once again dons the role of a police officer. The film features Selvaraghavan, Shraddha Srinath, and Maanasa Choudhary in key roles, along with Sai Ronak, Tarak Ponnappa, Mala Parvathi, Avinash, and Abishek Joseph George. Notably, FIR director Manu Anand contributed to the script as co-writer.
