Vivo has officially announced the launch date of its next-generation flagship foldable smartphone — the Vivo X Fold5. The device will make its debut on June 25 at 7:00 PM Beijing Time (4:30 PM IST). Alongside the foldable, Vivo will also unveil its latest audio accessory, the TWS Air3 Pro wireless earbuds.
Ahead of the official release, Vivo has begun early bookings for the X Fold5 via its official online store and retail partners in China. Interested customers can reserve the device by placing a CNY 10 (~₹120) deposit, which also secures a benefits package worth CNY 277.
While the full specifications remain under wraps, early reports suggest the X Fold5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The foldable is expected to feature 8T LTPO OLED panels, with an 8.03-inch main display and a 6.53-inch cover screen.
Vivo has teased major upgrades over the previous model — the X Fold5 will reportedly be lighter, thinner, and more durable. It will also set new benchmarks in foldable phone durability with industry-first IP5X dust resistance, along with IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ water resistance ratings.
In a major innovation, the Vivo X Fold5 will be the first Android smartphone to offer native integration with Apple iCloud. Users can sign in with their Apple ID via the built-in file manager to access, view, edit, and sync iCloud content, including photos, files, and Apple Notes in real time.
Additionally, the device supports cross-device connectivity with iPhones, enabling users to view iPhone messages and verification codes directly on the X Fold5, and even answer iPhone calls using the foldable.
