Yesterday employees of Secretariat met and discussed about the AP government’s plans to shift to Vizag. They expressed the concerns and added that they going through unwanted mental and financial stress. Seems like the High Power committee appointed to decide the capital has heard their concerns.
Comprising of ministers and higher officials, the High Power Committee met on Friday in Amaravati. They reportedly have come up with some bumper offers for employees who are willing to shift to Vizag immediately along with the Secretariat. The committee is likely to recommend 200 square yards of land to employees for their own residential construction.
Apart from the land, the committee wants to suggest 30 percent of Home Rent Allowance (HRA), 10 percent City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) and an allowance of Rs one Lakh to Rs 50,000 for shifting of homes depending upon the designation of employees.
The list of recommendations also includes continuation of five working days, local status to be continued till 2024, special exemptions in RTC and railway which employees are already getting in Amaravati and lastly exemption of donations for employees kids.
These recommendations are almost the same when the previous TDP government had asked employees to shift to Amaravati from Hyderabad. But given the circumstances, a majority of the employees are not willing to move.
The High Power Committee is going to submit its report before January 20th. Even secretariat employees are closely observing the political developments on capital row.
