Strange as it might sound, voters of a village in Jagitial district put forth a funny demand before the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government before casting their vote for the ruling party in the local body elections in the district.
Their demand is: supply adequate quantity of Kingfisher beer in the district. While counting the votes in Mutapalli village of Raikal block in Jagitial district, the counting authorities found a letter in the ballot box.
The letter, addressed to TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, was written by one of the voters, who claimed that he was writing it on behalf of district people.
His demand is that there was severe shortage of Kingfisher beer in the district and the authorities were not supplying the brand in Jagitial for several months.
“As a result, we are forced to travel to other districts for drinking Kingfisher beer. Please look into our request,” he said.
In Peddapalli, another voter left a letter in the ballot box, demanding that the chief minister make Garrepally village in Sultanabad Mandal in Peddapally district as a mandal. The voter said that the village had all facilities to be made as mandal.
