Is there a deep conspiracy to malign and marginalize Harish Rao within the TRS? This doubt is being expressed repeatedly in the party circles soon after the Dubbak byelection polling is over. A strong section within the party wants Harish Rao to lose face in Dubbak and then get blamed for the failures.
Highly placed sources reveal that Harish Rao was not aware of the plan to raid the kin of BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao for illegal money. The whole plan boomeranged and Raghunandan Rao took advantage of it by playing the victim card very effectively. Sources say that Harish Rao was not part of the plan and he too was taken by surprise when the news came out. Sources say such a raid could not have happened without a sanction from the TRS higher-ups. This only means that there was another group within the TRS that was remote-controlling the events in Dubbak.
Sources close to Harish Rao revealed that he was surprised about the raids and felt that it was a wrong thing to do. However, the raids happened and they appear to have benefited Raghunandan Rao immensely. So, is there a strong section within the ruling TRS that badly wanted the BJP to win?
