Director Chandrasekhar Yeleti has this problem of his films getting critical applause but failing at box office. He felt non-availability of multiplexes was reason for his previous films were not turning out to be commercial hits. Yeleti thought his latest film Manamantha starring Mohanlal and Gautami in lead roles would definitely please all section of audiences, especially ‘A’ class spectators, since he felt human emotions and drama in the film will connect to each and everyone.
Although Manamantha too received extreme positive reviews like his previous films, it is doing below par business. Manamantha box office performance was weak in first weekend too. In fact, weak promotions from the makers are predicted to be the reason for the film’s bad run at BO.
Manamantha has strong content and excelling performance from artists and technicians took the film to next level. Producer Sai Korrapati has good taste in selecting meaningful films. However, he should have promoted the film in order to make it a commercial hit. There is no meaning if a film won’t make profitable business, even though it gets appreciations.Chandrasekhar Yeleti and all other team members’ efforts in making a good and momentous cinema are going in vain.
