WhatsApp has officially released an upgraded app for the Apple Watch, delivering a significantly improved messaging experience for users who prefer to stay connected without frequently accessing their iPhones.
The new app allows users to read, reply, and react to messages directly from their wrist, offering greater convenience for on-the-go communication. For the first time, WhatsApp on Apple Watch also supports call notifications, enabling users to see who is calling without needing to check their phone.
Additionally, the update introduces several expanded features:
View entire messages, including longer chats
Record and send voice messages
React to messages with emojis
View images and stickers clearly
Scroll through more recent chat history
WhatsApp reiterated that all conversations and calls remain protected with end-to-end encryption, ensuring privacy across devices.
“This is just the start of making WhatsApp on your Apple Watch an even better experience,” the company stated, suggesting that more upgrades and features will follow.
The new WhatsApp app requires Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 10 or above.
