Superstar Mahesh is excited. For the first time ever in his career, he is getting his film released in another language on parallel with his Telugu release date. Both Srimanthudu and it’s Tamil brother Selvandan are hitting cinemas on August 7th itself. After speaking at the audio launch last night in good Tamil, Mahesh started worrying his fans. Find out why!!
Despite being born and brought up in Chennai, Mahesh hasn’t dubbed for the Tamil version of the flick. A look at Selvandan trailer amuses his fans, not that someone has dubbed for Mahesh, but that it looks like a Hollywood film getting dubbed into local language.
However, the show stealer is Jagapathi Babu as the talented senior actor turned character artist dubbed for himself. Though Mahesh evaded these dubbing related questions saying that he hasn’t got time to dub in Tamil, many wonder why he didn’t do it despite this being his first direct release in Tamil. When Jagapathi could, why not Mahesh?
Maybe Mahesh wants to play the game very safely and doesn’t want his Tamil fans to get hurt by his poorest pronunciations of the language if any. Maybe this is his first foraying into the Kollywood market, so he want someone very experienced to handle the dubbing rather giving too much hype with his own voice. Whatever it may, Mahesh’s voice is missing.
