YS Jagan is known for balancing caste considerations while reconstituting his council of ministers. He has done the same thing while appointing leaders to nominated posts. Knowing Jagan’s penchant for keeping caste equations in view while taking key decisions, three MLAs from the Vysya community have pinned their hopes for a place in the ministry.
There are three MLAs from Vysya community in the YSRCP. They are Vizianagaram MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy, Vijayawada West MLA Vellampalli Srinivas and Giddalur’s Anne Rambabu. Though a first-timer, Vellampalli has been made a minister and was given the all-important department of endowments. However, in the upcoming reshuffle, there is every possibility of his being replaced. The Vysya MLAs feel that Vellampall would be replaced by another one from the same community. If that happens, one of them could become a minister.
Anne Rambabu was an MLA before. He too is said to be lobbying for a place in the ministry. As for Veerabhadra Swamy, he is a political veteran. He has been with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from the beginning and remained steadfastly with him. Recently, Swamy said that Jagan had assured him a ministry when the reshuffle takes place.
At the same time, he said that he would not meet YS Jagan to lobby for the post. He said he was ready to contest from Vizianagaram again if the party gives him a ticket. There are intense speculations among the community over who will get the ministry.
