The streets of Hyderabad were seen in a completely deserted look as lakhs of Seemandhra people left for their native places for the festival of Sankranthi. On the contrary, people of Telangana only celebrate Sankranthi nominally.
However, the joke doing rounds is that instead of holding it in August, the Telangana CM and TRS boss KCR should have in fact selected this period for conducting his infamous and inconclusive ‘household survey’.
In case KCR really wanted to know the population of Telanganites versus those of Seemandhra people, this might have certainly been an apt time! With all Telangana people stay put in Hyderabad and Seemandhra people going away, it was a good chance.
KCR might have at least generated some accurate results unlike the skewed results produced by the original survey. All in all, the household survey was basically a futile exercise as its objective has not been reached and the purpose also was not served.
