We never know which film runs at the box office and which film doesn’t. People have become very selective over which film to watch in theatres. They are not stepping into theatres unless they are interested in it. A few of the recent films which gained good talk too failed on the commercial front. People were unable to find a reason for their failure. There are a few instances where the runtime is also becoming a huge problem.
Nani’s ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ is a big example of it. The movie is brilliantly written and wonderfully executed. There is a lot of creativity in this romantic comedy and Nani was at the top of his game too. Despite all its positives, it failed at the box office and many blamed the length of the film which was nearly three hours.
Due to this, star producer Dil Raju is a bit afraid of his upcoming venture ‘Thank You’. Apparently, the movie’s initial runtime was 2 hours and 50 minutes which got trimmed to 2 hours and 9 minutes. This news is going around in the industry a lot but a feel-good movie like ‘Thank You’ runs due to its essence. Many feel that editing over 35 minutes might affect the feel of this movie.
As it is known, ‘Thank You’ focuses on the various stages of the lead character’s life. People expect these movies to run on a slow note. So, we need to see if Dil Raju and Vikram Kumar took the right decision or not.
Raashi Khanna, Malavika Nair and Avika Gor are the heroines in this film while Sai Sushanth Reddy plays a vital role. The story of ‘Thank You’ has been given by BVS Ravi while Thaman composed the music. PC Sreeram is the director of photography while Naga Chaitanya will be seen in different looks throughout the course of this film. Vikram Kumar is the movie’s director.
