Samantha is one of the very few actresses in South who owns a huge following and a good market. She has the capacity to bring people into theatres thanks to her stunning glamour and superb acting skills. Apart from acting beside big names in South and North, she is also acting in some female oriented films. She already did ‘U Turn’ and ‘Oh! Baby’ till date. She played the lead role in Gunasekhar’s epic mythological drama ‘Shaakunthalam’. As we know, it is about the love story of Shakunthala and King Dushyantha.
Senior filmmaker Gunasekhar endured a lot of difficulties for ‘Rudramadevi’ back in 2015. He somehow recovered its budget but he decided to produce and direct ‘Shaakunthalam’ which is made on a huge budget. Backed by Dil Raju, the shooting of this movie has been wrapped up a long time ago but there is no update about the film till date. People have already forgotten about this flick.
These days, the filmmakers are promoting their films even when the shooting isn’t complete. They are releasing regular updates in order to keep the buzz alive. They start with posters, move to lyrical videos, release a teaser, follow it up with a few key updates and finally release the trailer which takes the expectations quite high. But the shooting of ‘Shaakunthalam’ wrapped up in August 2021 as announced by the makers and only a poster was released since then. There are reports that Dil Raju and Samantha are not impressed by the output. The makers are not even releasing a simple update about this flick and all people saw till date was a poster of Samantha.
When Neelima Guna was quesioned about it on social media, she said that the teaser and rest of the updates will be coming soon and also confirmed that the film will be releasing this year. Let us wait and see how ‘Shaakunthalam’ team brings back the lost hype on this movie.

Kajal Aggarwal Chooses Quality Over Quantity After Motherhood
July 16, 2026

For several years, actresses in Indian cinema have successfully continued their careers beyond the age of 40. However, over time, the industry witnessed a shift where many actresses struggled to receive significant opportunities after marriage or motherhood. Now, the scenario is gradually changing, with several leading actresses proving that personal milestones do not have to limit their professional journey. Kajal Aggarwal stands as one of the prominent examples of this changing trend.
The actress is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film The India Story, which is scheduled to hit theatres on July 24, 2026. The film also stars Shreyas Talpade and marks a different choice for Kajal, as she will be seen portraying a serious and content-driven role rather than her usual glamorous characters.
Speaking during a recent interaction, Kajal revealed the reason behind choosing The India Story despite receiving several offers from the South film industry. She explained that motherhood has brought a major change in the way she approaches both life and her career. The actress stated that the film’s subject, which focuses on everyday food habits and the importance of healthy choices, deeply connected with her personal experiences as a mother.
Kajal mentioned that after becoming a mother, she has become more conscious about the food choices made for her son and family. This personal connection with the film’s theme motivated her to be part of the project.
The actress also revealed that she has changed her approach towards selecting films. Instead of signing multiple projects every year, Kajal now prefers to focus on a limited number of quality films. She believes that choosing meaningful roles and strong characters is more important than being part of a large number of movies.
After a brief break, Kajal Aggarwal is making a steady comeback with interesting projects. She is also set to appear in a key role in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming film directed by Gopichand Malineni. The actress clarified that she is no longer focusing only on routine commercial entertainers and is keen to explore challenging roles and impactful stories that offer something valuable to audiences.
