Has Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan permanently outsourced his politics to the BJP? Is Jana Sena party president a foot-soldier fo the BJP in Andhra Pradesh? This is the doubt that many Jana Sena workers and sympathizers are expressing these days.
The party workers are upset that while they are working day-in and day-out for the party, the party chief is ceding ground to the BJP. After opting out of the contest in the GHMC elections, Pawan Kalyan has said that even in Tirupati, the BJP is strong at the grassroots and that the Jana Sena will extend support to the BJP candidate. This effectively means that the BJP will put up its candidate for the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency bypolls, while the Jana Sena will just extend support to the candidate. In effect, the Jana Sena will become a mere appendage of the BJP. Many Jana Sena leaders are unhappy at this decision. They strongly feel that the Jana Sena should have insisted on contesting the bypoll.
Pawan Kalyan, who was in Tirupati the other day, said that he has an excellent rapport with the national leadership of the BJP. He, however, said that there were some gaps in his relation with the state BJP officers and added that he was working to remove them. Diehard Jana Sena activists and leaders feel that Pawan’s decisions could effectively kill the party in the days to come.
