Will Pawan Kalyan be made a union minister like his elder brother Megastar Chiranjeevi? Those in the know say it is likely that he will be given a place in the Union Cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sources say while it might appear improbable, Pawan may well be invited to join the Union Government.
The BJP, which wants to grow in AP and has tried every trick in its bag for that, is now said to be planning to bring him in. The BJP national leadership feels that someone like Pawan Kalyan, who has a strong support base and represents a politically strong community, should be made a minister to seize the initiative in AP. The BJP has just one Rajya Sabha member, but his term will expire in a couple of years. Also, making him a minister will not help the BJP in any which way. So, the party feels that someone like Pawan Kalyan would be a useful addition to the party. Sources in the know say that both Modi and Amit Shah are of the opinion that Pawan will help in the growth of the party. At a later stage, the BJP might ask Pawan Kalyan to merge his party into the BJP.
Sources say that a Central Minister is trying to talk to Pawan Kalyan about his joining the Central Cabinet. He is also trying to convince Pawan Kalyan to merge his party into the BJP. One has to wait and see if Pawan Kalyan agrees to it and finally joins the Cabinet.
