It is going from bad to worse for movie industry to survive in this corona crisis situation. Tamil Nadu Theaters and Multiplex association is now threatening to ban all the future releases of Suriya’s films because of the decision he is taking.
Going into the details, Ponmagal Vandhal which is produced by Suriya on 2D entertainment banner and has Jyothika in the lead role is heading for direct OTT release.
Makers have decided to release the film in Amazon Prime in the month of May instead of theatrical release which seems almost impossible for the coming months.
Makers of small films are interested to follow this trend as they are burdening a lot, paying interest and not releasing their movie. But the problem came when theaters and multiplex association is threatening Suriya of his films to ban with his decision.
Now Suriya is on the back foot. He is already under severe pressure with the film Ponmagal Vandhal. Now new headaches are being created because of this film. We have to wait and see how this will turn up into.
