Will Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, and Balakrishna back down?

It is almost confirmed that there won’t be any new Tollywood releases in April, owing to the alarming surge in Covid cases across the country.

Incidentally, theatre managements have announced that cinema halls won’t be operating in Telangana from tomorrow. Only theatres which are screening Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab will be operating.

Coming to the topic, Acharya, which is slated for release on 13th will certainly be postponed as the shooting is yet to be completed. Now, it is being said that same might be the case with Narappa, Akhanda and Khiladi as well.

Venkatesh’s Narappa wrapped up shoot and is in final leg of production. Meanwhile, both Akhanda and Khiladi are still in shooting stage.

Balakrishna is braving Covid and shooting for Akhanda but Ravi Teja has called off shoot. Practically speaking, wrapping up shooting, and post-production on time is a really tough challenge given the current situation pertaining to Covid outbreak.

More importantly, theatres have shut operations in Telangana and there is no update so as to when they will reopen. In all likelihood, Tollywood might not have any new theatrical releases in May either. So, it is safe to say that Venkatesh’s Narappa, Balakrishna’s BB3 and Ravi Teja’s BB3 which are slated for release in May will almost certainly be postponed indefinitely.
