For the last couple of days, several leaders of the BJP and Hindu groups have been vehemently targeting Telangana CM KCR. And the reason is the carvings of his face on the pillars of the newly built Rs 1,800 crore Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadadri.
Earlier today, BJP Telangana chief K Laxman visited the temple and carried out huge protests. Laxman gave 1 week’s time to the government to remove the carvings of KCR and TRS’ party symbol car and other populist government schemes like Haritha Haram and Shaadi Mubarak on the temple pillars.
Bowing down to the immense pressure from all quarters, the Yadadri Temple Development Authority officials announced this evening that the pillars bearing the controversial carvings will be removed within the temple premises.
The officials had earlier stated that the temple architects had carved KCR’s face on the pillars out of ‘love’ and adulation for KCR. The old pillars will be replaced with new ones in a few days time.
