YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently visited the Guntur Mirchi Yard, despite the enforcement of the election code, fully aware that holding a public meeting under such circumstances would be a violation. As a result, the police department refrained from providing security for the visit, as it was not in compliance with the prescribed guidelines. However, the YSR Congress Party (YCP) is now leveraging this incident to push a larger narrative, claiming that Jagan’s life is at risk and seeking central security allocations.
YCP MP Midhun Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, requesting enhanced security for Jagan. In his letter, he expressed concerns over the lack of security during the Guntur Mirchi Yard visit, despite prior intimation to the concerned officials. He questioned whether this lapse was intentional, given that the former Chief Minister is entitled to Z+ category protection from central agencies. The letter further alleged that this was not an isolated incident but part of a larger conspiracy by the coalition government to restrict Jagan’s movements, even at the cost of his safety.
Additionally, YCP has raised concerns over the deteriorating condition of the bulletproof vehicle allocated to Jagan, using this as another angle to highlight security lapses. The party is now urging the central government to step in and enhance Jagan’s security cover through central agencies, portraying the issue as a matter of national significance.
