As his critics see, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is busy with his agenda.
With a massive mandate on his hands, the youngest chief minister of the state is busy rolling out welfare initiatives for the people to win their hearts and consolidate his position on one side and eliminating his rival from the scene on the other.
The series of the dolls will certainly keep him in the hearts of the people, though might take time as the opposition to him is strong and the media campaign goes wider.
However, the welfare initiatives have reached the real beneficiaries as several of the TDP and the Left parties’ activists have benefited from them.
Besides these welfare measures, the young politician has to consolidate his position politically by weakening his rival. The rival is not strong politically alone. The rival is strong financially and enjoys greater media support.
To weaken the enemy, Jagan Mohan Reddy is forced to adopt revenge politics, a revenge to the jail term he was forced to serve because of the conspiracy that Chandrababu Naidu hatched with the Congress leadership in those days.
The revenge is also to reply to the character assassination campaign that Chandrababu Naidu and his media unleashed on him over the years.
The image of corruption given to him is to be answered paying in the same form and that is the reason the young chief minister is trying at every issue.
Be it reverse tendering or the three capitals issue, he is taking them all as a revenge to weaken the rival.
The strong Kamma base in the form of Amaravati is now being weakened even financially by going for reverse tendering and shifting of the capital.
One cannot talk of values at this point of time to strike when the iron is hot. The media and politics in AP were biased against Jagan Mohan Reddy for all these years painting him as a hard nut to crack and highly corrupt.
He slipped power when his father died while in power. He lost the chance by a few seats in 2014 and finally he had won the top seat and it is time for him to show what he is and wipe out the image that the politics and media created about him.
He is going all out on it and it is time for him to take revenge and play his cards.
No politician will allow the rival to remain strong or grow strong as such rival would pose a threat and that is what Jagan Mohan Reddy is doing now.
