YSRC MP Is The Second Richest Rajya Sabha MP In India

As per the affidavits filed by Rajya Sabha MPs in Telugu states for the biennial elections, the YSRC MP and industrialist Ayodhya Rami Reddy emerged as the second richest in the country.

The data according to the Association for Democratic Reforms, YSRC MP Ayodhya Rami Reddy declared assets worth Rs 2577 crore while the richest MP Mahendra Prasad of Janata Dal (United) from Bihar declared assets worth Rs 4078 crore. Jaya Bachchan of Samajwadi Party has Rs 1001 crore assets.

YSRC MP Ayodhya Rami Reddy is an entrepreneur from Guntur district, has movable assets of Rs 2518 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 59 crore, and most of his assets are in company bonds and shares.

Another YSRC MP Nathwani Parimal declared assets worth Rs 605 crore.

Out of the total 229 sitting Rajya Sabha MPs analyzed, 203 are crorepatis, which is nearly 89 percent.

Criminal Background

Out of 229 Rajya Sabha MPs analyzed, 54 have declared criminal cases against themselves, which is 24 percent of the MPs. 28 MPs declared serious criminal cases while One MP Bhonsle Shrimant Chh Udayanraje Pratapsingh Maharaj (BJP) from Maharashtra has declared cases related to murder against him.

4 Rajya Sabha MPs have declared cases related to attempt to murder and 4 MPs have declared cases related to crimes against women. One from these four MPs, KC Venugopal (INC) from Rajasthan has declared case related to rape.

The criminal background analyzed party-wise, 14 out of 77 Rajya Sabha MPs from BJP, 8 put of 40 Rajya Sabha MPS from INC, 2 out of 13 from AITC, 3 out of 9 MPs from BJD, 3 out of 6 MPS from YSRCP and 2 out of 8 MPs from SP have declared criminal cases against themselves.

3 out of 6 Rajya Sabha MPs from YSRCP declared serious criminal cases against themselves in their affidavits.
