Akhil Akkineni is making a bold career shift by stepping into the mass-action genre with a film set against the rugged backdrop of Rayalaseema. Telugu audiences have always shown a strong affinity for regionally rooted stories, as seen with Naga Chaitanya’s recent blockbuster set in Srikakulam. Now, Akhil’s decision to embrace a Rayalaseema-based narrative has sparked immense excitement among fans.

Until now, Akhil has primarily starred in urban-centric films catering to younger audiences, such as Agent, Hello, Mr. Majnu, Most Eligible Bachelor, and Akhil. However, his upcoming project marks a significant transformation, bringing a rustic and action-packed storyline to the forefront. Given that Agent failed to meet expectations, Akhil is being extra cautious with his next film, ensuring it has mass appeal.

The film, tentatively titled Lenin, is being directed and produced by Murali Kishore Abburi under Annapurna Studios. As per reports, the film is a rural action love story set in Chittoor, a genre that has always resonated well with Telugu audiences. The next major schedule, spanning around 20 days, is set to commence in Hyderabad on the 14th of this month.

Adding to the excitement, Sreeleela is expected to play the female lead, further increasing anticipation. The makers are planning a grand Dussehra release, aiming to deliver a power-packed entertainer for the festival season. With Akhil stepping into a full-fledged mass role for the first time, expectations are sky-high for this Rayalaseema-based action drama!
