Young Hero Steals Balayya’s Title!

Young hero Naga Shourya, who is struggling to revive his career, has signed a new film having an interesting title, “Nartanasala”. Doesn’t this title sounds very familiar?

Nartanasala, based on the Hindu epic Mahabharata, was an iconic 1963 film starring NTR. Balayya aspired to remake this mythological film, and it was officially launched in 2004 with his taking the directorial mantle as well. The project however was scrapped after the untimely death of Soundarya, who was on board to essay the role of Draupadi.

Before Balayya locked GPS as his 100th film, there were speculations that he would revive “Nartanasala” with Nayanthara playing the character of Draupadi. The actor however confirmed in an interview during the promotions of GPS that he had no plans of reviving the project.

Shourya’s “Nartanasala” will be directed by debutante Sreenivas who had earlier assisted Krishna Vamsi. The film is heard to have no connection with the story of ‘Mahabharata’, but that it deals with a contemporary subject.
