Hyderabad: In yet another troubling incident involving nightlife venues, actress Kalpika found herself at the center of a controversy after an altercation broke out between her and the staff of a popular club in Gachibowli. The incident, which reportedly occurred during her birthday celebration, marks the second such case of alleged misconduct by pub staff reported in recent days.
Kalpika, known for her roles in the Zee5 web series Loser and films such as Pranayam, HIT, Padi Padi Leche Manasu, and various short films, had visited the club with friends to celebrate her special day. However, what began as a festive evening turned sour after a disagreement reportedly emerged over a birthday brownie.
According to sources, a verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation when club staff allegedly made inappropriate remarks regarding Kalpika’s attire, her parents, and personal identity. The situation further deteriorated, resulting in an alleged assault on the actress. A formal complaint has been lodged at the Gachibowli police station, and authorities have initiated an investigation.
In response to the incident, Kalpika took to Instagram, posting a 40-minute-long video detailing her version of the events. In the video, she can be seen expressing her frustration and recounting how the conflict intensified over what she described as a trivial issue. She stated that while she would have been willing to pay a fine—whether Rs 2,000 or Rs 10,000—she expected to be treated with dignity and respect.
The video has since garnered attention on social media, raising questions about customer safety and accountability in Hyderabad’s nightlife establishments.
