Akhil Akkineni’s long-awaited action thriller Agent has finally made its way to Sony LIV after multiple delays. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film was initially planned for an earlier digital release but faced numerous postponements before finally premiering on March 13, 2025.
Billed as a high-octane action entertainer, Agent marked the debut of Sakshi Vaidya as the leading lady, while legendary actor Mammootty played a pivotal role. Despite generating strong pre-release hype, the film’s extended delays affected audience expectations. Upon its theatrical release, Agent failed to meet box office expectations, with producer Anil Sunkara himself admitting that the project did not achieve the desired success.
Sony LIV had secured the digital rights much earlier, but the film’s OTT release remained uncertain for a long time. Though initially scheduled for a March 14 premiere, Agent unexpectedly became available for streaming on the evening of March 13. The film can now be streamed in multiple South Indian languages.
