The alliance government in Andhra Pradesh has successfully fostered a strong relationship with the central government, ensuring significant financial support for the state. With proactive leadership from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Andhra Pradesh has been able to secure substantial funding from the Centre—this was evident in the recent Union Budget 2026 and is now further reinforced by the latest railway grants.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the railway budget allocations for Andhra Pradesh today, revealing that the state has received ₹9,417 crore—nearly double the ₹5,337 crore allocated to Telangana. Additionally, Andhra Pradesh has been earmarked for multiple One Day Bharat and Namo Bharat trains in the coming years, further boosting its railway infrastructure.

The central government’s communication was clear—Andhra Pradesh is being given top priority in railway budget allocations, as well as in the adoption of new railway technologies. This is a promising development for the state’s infrastructure growth and connectivity.

Meanwhile, Telangana has also received significant railway allocations, particularly in the form of Vande Bharat trains, with five already in operation and more expected to be added in 2026.

Maintaining a strong rapport with the central government has proven beneficial for Andhra Pradesh, a state grappling with financial challenges. The alliance led by Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan appears to be leveraging this partnership effectively, bringing crucial funding and developmental projects to the state.
