After increasing the prices of MacBooks, iPads, and several services, Apple has now raised the prices of its latest iPhone models in Japan. The price revision affects multiple devices, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The latest price adjustment in Japan has seen iPhone models become costlier by up to 11.3%. The iPhone 17 Pro Max now carries a price tag of 214,800 yen (approximately Rs 1.27 lakh), compared to its earlier price of 194,800 yen (around Rs 1.15 lakh).
Similarly, the iPhone 17 Pro price has increased from 179,800 yen to 194,800 yen, while the standard iPhone 17 has gone up from 129,800 yen to 142,800 yen. The iPhone Air price has also witnessed a hike, increasing from 159,800 yen to 177,800 yen.
The iPhone 17e and iPhone 16 models have also received price revisions, with their new prices standing at 107,800 yen and 114,800 yen respectively.
Apple has not officially announced any price increase for iPhones in India or other major global markets yet. However, the recent developments in Japan have raised concerns that similar price adjustments could be introduced in other regions.
Earlier, Apple had increased prices of select Mac and iPad models, citing rising component costs and global memory chip shortages. Apple CEO Tim Cook had also indicated that increasing production expenses could eventually lead to higher prices for consumers.
The impact of rising costs has already been visible in Apple’s services segment, with subscription prices for Apple One and Apple Music recently increasing in India.
While there is no confirmed update regarding iPhone price hikes in India, the increase in Japan has sparked speculation that upcoming models, including the iPhone 18 Pro series, could arrive with higher price tags.
Consumers are now closely watching Apple’s next move as the company continues to adjust pricing across its hardware and services ecosystem.
