Aryan Khan’s Netflix Debut Faces Controversy Over Ranbir Kapoor Scene

Bollywood is abuzz with Aryan Khan’s much-anticipated debut on Netflix with the web series Ba**ds of Bollywood*. The show, which follows the journey of a young man and his friends as they navigate the glamorous yet turbulent world of the film industry, has received positive reviews for Aryan’s performance and storytelling.

However, the series has now run into controversy. Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who appears in a special cameo, was shown using a banned e-cigarette on screen — and notably, without the required statutory warning. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken cognizance of a complaint filed against the depiction, citing concerns that it could mislead younger audiences and potentially violate the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act.

The NHRC has directed the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the Mumbai Police to submit an action-taken report. This development has reignited ongoing debates about censorship and regulatory oversight on streaming platforms, with many viewers and experts calling for stricter content guidelines to protect public interest.

Aryan Khan’s series continues to trend, balancing both critical acclaim and controversy as conversations around OTT content regulation gather momentum.
