Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has announced an ambitious vision to transform Hyderabad into the capital of Indian cinema. Chairing a recent Ministerial Sub-Committee meeting on Film Industry Development, Bhatti directed officials to prepare a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) outlining the steps required to establish Hyderabad as a major hub for the film industry, attracting talent from across the country and abroad.

Bhatti highlighted ongoing challenges faced by filmmakers in Telangana, particularly the cumbersome process of securing multiple approvals from departments like police, fire services, and municipal bodies. To address this, he instructed the implementation of a single-window clearance system under the Film Development Corporation (FDC), with a dedicated officer to ensure quick and efficient coordination.

The Deputy CM also emphasized the importance of promoting film shoots in various tourist destinations across the state to simultaneously boost tourism and cinema. He raised concerns about the high prices of food and beverages at cinema canteens and urged officials to introduce regulatory measures to ensure affordability for the general public.

Seeking progress on previously allotted infrastructure, Bhatti requested an update on the 50 acres of land sanctioned to the FDC, asking for a detailed status report in the next meeting. He also recommended inviting the RCS Committee, which looks after the welfare of cine workers residing in Chitrapuri Colony, to future discussions.

Regarding the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards scheduled for June 14, Bhatti instructed organizers to host the event on a grand scale, making it a landmark celebration. He also directed officials to extend invitations to leading figures from the Telugu film industry as well as renowned cinema personalities from across India.

The meeting was attended by Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Duddilla Sridhar Babu, FDC Chairman Dil Raju, Home Department Special Chief Secretary Ravi Gupta, Information Department Commissioner Harish, FDC Executive Director Kishore Babu, and other senior officials.
