Decision on how to pass Inter students will be taken soon: Sabitha Indra Reddy

Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy appeared before the media and officially announced that the second-year Intermediate exams have been canceled given the Covid scare.

The Minister said, the decision was taken, as the students and their parents are worried about the conduction of exams as the Covid virus is spreading rapidly in the second wave.

Adding further, she said, an expert committee has been constituted to prepare the guidelines on what basis should the students be passed. The committee will submit its reports with suggestions on this. Once the report is submitted, the government will take a call on this, she said.

She went on to say that students who want to give their exams will be given a chance after the Covid situation gets under control. More details on this will be issued soon, she said.

The rules and regulations on how to pass the students will be framed soon. There are around 4.56 lakh Inter second-year students across the state, the Education Minister said.

On the other hand, media reports claim that the second-year students will be passed based on the marks they got in the first year. However, there is no official confirmation on this.
