The CID officials recently issued notices to the former Andhra Pradesh minister and TDP senior leader Devineni Uma.
He is accused of displaying morphed videos of AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy at a press conference. The High Court today heard a quash petition filed by Devineni Uma.
Devineni Uma’s lawyer asked the CID to suspend the registered FIR against Devineni Uma. After hearing the arguments, the court directed Devineni Uma to appear before the CID on the 29th of this month.
The court adjourned the case till May 7. The court ordered that no action be taken against Devineni Uma till that time. The court ordered that he should be protected under Section 41. Also, the High Court directed the CID to change the CID prosecuting officer.
