Most people want to see film on digital platform. It was always risky but it has become more risky now for both producers, distributors and actors. A news is going around that producers would like to sell films to OTT platform, this is pure trash.
The upcoming films like Uppena, V, Orrey Buijjiga and Nisabhdham’s business has already been done and people were waiting to get a dekkho of this films when Corona struck the world.
Just because there are a few weeks break and people have no choice other than watching web series and films, it doesn’t mean producers are looking to sell the movies here.
All the rubbish being keyed is just a figment of some unemployed man’s imagination. It will take a while for people to throng the theatres but once the initial fear is gone, there is no looking back.
The magic of the big screen is very different from what you watch on television ad the net. The euphoria, the publicity, the ticket sales, promotions, reviews…all that is a different high that everyone involved in a film or film making gets.
It is just a matter of weeks and when the lock down is lifted, it is back to business. No man in his full senses would spend crores of rupees just to be sold on OTT. OTT is just a side dish.
