High court’s final decision about SSC exams to be announced today

The High Court is going to make final decision regarding the petitions issued to suspend SSC exams in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak. A meet headed by Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Vijayasen Reddy opened the hearing yesterday.

The SSC Board informed the High Court that it had complied with all the provisions of the covid-19 norms for conducting the examination, but the ambiguity will continue until a final decision is announced.

Advocate General BS Prasad appealed to the High Court on Thursday that all essential arrangements for exams on 8th of this month has been done and insisted for permission to conduct examinations.

The jury questioned the advocate by iterating whether conducting exams in this pandemic situation is really necessary. The Advocate General however claimed that he followed as per High Court directives and also made schools to prep up for examinations from June 8th.

He assured that safety precautions have been taken keeping in view of the covid-19 and also said the schools had doubled the exam centres to accommodate the students to have wider seating arrangements.

Teachers student unions, intellectuals and parents on the other hand, say it is better to cancel tenth class exams as there had been sudden spurt of corona cases of late. They suggested to take the average of Internals, assignments and pre final exams to decide the results. Many have protested against the exams and the final hearing for it is scheduled for today.
