Apple continues to dominate in customer loyalty, especially among iPhone users. According to the Smartphone Loyalty Survey 2026 conducted by SellCell, iPhone loyalty has reached an impressive 96.4%, significantly higher than Android’s 86.4%. The data also shows that only 3.6% of iPhone users are considering switching, while Android sees a much higher switch rate of 13.6%. Based on responses from over 5,000 users, the survey highlights a steady rise in Apple’s user retention, up from 91.9% in 2021, making it one of the most stable ecosystems in the tech industry.
At the same time, OpenAI has introduced major upgrades to its Codex desktop app, expanding its capabilities into a more autonomous and powerful AI assistant. One of the standout features is the ability for Codex to use a computer in the background—viewing the screen, clicking, and typing—allowing it to interact across applications without requiring APIs. This enables users, especially developers, to test apps, refine frontend designs, and automate workflows more efficiently.
OpenAI also revealed that multiple AI agents can now operate simultaneously on a Mac without interfering with each other or the user’s ongoing tasks. This parallel functionality enhances productivity by allowing different processes to run at the same time.
The updated desktop app also includes a built-in browser, enabling users to directly interact with webpages and guide the AI more effectively. Additionally, Codex can now generate and edit images using advanced models, further broadening its creative capabilities.
To improve usability, OpenAI has introduced over 90 new plugins that integrate apps, tools, and MCP servers, giving Codex greater context awareness and action-taking ability. The addition of memory and automation features allows the AI to remember user preferences, schedule tasks, and resume long-running processes seamlessly.
These updates are currently being rolled out to Codex desktop app users logged in via ChatGPT, with advanced personalization features expected to expand soon to Enterprise, Edu, and users in regions like the EU and UK. The computer-use capability is initially available on macOS, with broader availability planned in the near future.
