Mangli Faces Complaint, Producers Urged to Pause Offers

Playback singer Mangli has found herself in the middle of a controversy after a complaint was reportedly submitted to the Telugu Film Producers Council, urging producers to refrain from offering her playback opportunities until allegations against her are clarified.

According to Sampath Naik, a representative of the Banjara community and a member of the Telangana Movie Artists Association, a formal representation has been made requesting producers to temporarily avoid working with the singer. He stated that a case has been registered at Panjagutta Police Station, where Mangli has reportedly been named among the accused in an alleged microfinance-related scam.

Naik further claimed that several victims belong to the Banjara community and suggested that, similar to how government officials are suspended during investigations, a cautious approach should be taken in this case as well.

Sources within the Producers Council have confirmed receiving the complaint and indicated that the matter is currently under review. No official decision has been made yet, though there is growing speculation that some producers may distance themselves from projects involving Mangli until more clarity emerges.

Industry insiders note that Mangli typically charges between ₹50,000 and ₹60,000 per song. Any informal boycott or decline in offers could potentially impact both her film career and independent music reach.

Despite the controversy, Mangli remains a prominent voice in Telugu music, known for chartbusters like Saranga Dariya, Ramulo Ramula, Zinthak, Jwala Reddy, and Ooru Palletooru. Her independent tracks such as Rela Re Rela Ra and Bayilone Balipalike have also earned her a strong fan base across Telugu-speaking regions.

As of now, no formal action has been announced, and further developments are expected based on the progress of the investigation and the Council’s response.
