A recent false rumor surrounding the highly anticipated Kannada movie Kantara: Chapter 1 created unnecessary confusion among fans. Directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Hombale Films, the film is slated for a grand worldwide release on October 2. Featuring Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead, the trailer has already struck a chord with audiences through its stunning visuals and rich cultural elements.

The controversy began when a fake poster circulated online, claiming that viewers should abstain from eating meat, drinking alcohol, or using tobacco before watching the film. This so-called “Kantara Deeksha” quickly went viral, sparking heated discussions. Many found the idea odd, especially since the original Kantara featured scenes involving meat.

Responding to the rumors, Rishab Shetty clarified that the poster was completely fake. “We don’t want to respond to false information. Our film is about storytelling and respecting culture, not about setting restrictions,” he stated. Hombale Films also issued a statement, urging fans to ignore such baseless claims and reaffirming that Kantara: Chapter 1 is a celebration of traditions, not a set of rules for audiences.

With the film’s release just around the corner, excitement is building as fans eagerly await its narrative, performances, and cultural depth—choosing to focus on the cinematic journey rather than unfounded online chatter.
