Kantara: Chapter 1 Gears Up for October 2 Release Amid Low Promotions

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara created history by crossing linguistic barriers and redefining the scope of pan-Indian cinema. Now, its much-awaited prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, is set for a grand release on October 2, 2025. But with barely 20 days to go, fans are worried about the film’s lack of aggressive promotions.

While Rishab Shetty and his team are brimming with confidence about the film’s content and success, the silence on the promotional front is raising eyebrows. The only major update so far has been the revelation that the digital rights were sold for a whopping ₹125 Cr, creating a wave of buzz online.

The makers have reportedly planned a massive trailer launch on September 20, which could finally kickstart the promotional blitz. However, given the negativity surrounding the project due to a few unfortunate deaths linked directly and indirectly to the sets, the team will need to work doubly hard to shift focus back to the film.

So far, only one making video has been released, highlighting the scale and effort behind the project. But that alone isn’t enough to recreate the frenzy of the original. Releasing songs, teasers, and sneak peeks consistently could keep the film trending and ensure nationwide anticipation.

With expectations already sky-high, production house Hombale Films has the perfect opportunity to amplify the buzz and convert curiosity into hype. Fans strongly believe that even a late start can work wonders — if executed smartly and on a pan-India scale.

As the countdown to October 2nd begins, all eyes are on the team to see whether Kantara: Chapter 1 can match, or even surpass, the magic of the first film.
