Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara: Chapter 1,” the much-awaited prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, has now surpassed the remarkable Rs 800 crore mark worldwide, with around Rs 200 crore coming from its Hindi version.
Although collections from the Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam versions have slowed over the past two weeks, the film continues to perform strongly in Kannada and Hindi markets. To celebrate this milestone, the makers unveiled a special poster highlighting the Rs 800 crore worldwide gross.
Following this announcement, many Kannada cinema fans expressed hopes that the film might eventually enter the Rs 1000 crore club. However, that seems unlikely now, as the OTT release date has been officially confirmed.
“Kantara: Chapter 1” is set to begin streaming on Prime Video from October 31, available in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam languages.
