Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has kicked off the shoot of her upcoming film “Daayra”, directed by the acclaimed Meghna Gulzar. The project, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran as her co-star, marks the 68th film in Kareena’s illustrious career. Sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses on Instagram, Kareena wrote, “Day 1, 68th film. ‘Daayra’ with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi. Send love and blessings.”
Director Meghna Gulzar, known for critically acclaimed films like Talvar, Raazi, Chhapaak, and Sam Bahadur, also shared updates from the set. She described the project as, “A journey of blurred and crossed lines. We begin.”
“Daayra” is being promoted as a crime-drama thriller that delves into the timeless themes of crime, punishment, and justice. According to the official logline, the film reflects contemporary societal issues, highlighting the harsh and complex realities faced by people today.
Kareena was last seen in the 2024 comedy Crew with Tabu and Kriti Sanon, and in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again opposite Ajay Devgn. Prithviraj Sukumaran recently starred in and directed the 2025 release L2: Empuraan and appeared in Sarzameen alongside Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
