Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has drawn attention after changing his stance within a day on the controversial movie ticket price hike issue.

On Saturday, the minister stated that the increase in ticket prices was implemented without his knowledge and maintained that he had no role in the decision-making process.

However, on Monday, following a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy revised his statement. He clarified that the ticket price hike was approved only after detailed discussions and proper consultations.

The minister emphasized that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy does not interfere in the functioning of other departments, drawing a parallel with the governance style of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

“We all sat together and deliberated the matter thoroughly. The decision to increase ticket prices was taken only after mutual consultation,” he said, asserting that the move was carried out with his full knowledge and approval.
