The highly anticipated Delhi electoral campaign concluded with the counting of votes today, confirming a historic political shift. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form the government in Delhi after 27 years, marking the end of the Aam Aadmi Party’s tenure.
However, what shocked many was the Congress Party’s complete wipeout, failing to secure even a single seat out of the 70 constituencies in the Delhi Assembly elections—an unprecedented defeat for the party.
Amidst this, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) seized the opportunity to take a jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. In a sarcastic tweet, KTR remarked, “Congrats to Rahul Gandhi for winning the election for BJP, yet again! Well done.” His comment implied that Congress’s failure under Rahul Gandhi had paved the way for the BJP’s victory in Delhi.
However, KTR’s attempt to mock Rahul Gandhi quickly backfired as Telangana Congress leaders turned the tables on him. Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy responded sharply, saying, “Dear KTR, We, the Congress Party, are fighters—we never give up, and we always bounce back, just like we did in Telangana.”
Taking a dig at KTR’s own electoral performance, Komatireddy added, “We would have congratulated you on your spectacular achievement in the Parliament elections—delivering zero seats for your own party and gifting 8 seats to the BJP in Telangana. If there’s anyone who deserves credit for the BJP’s rise in the state, it’s you. Well done!”
His counterattack highlighted that it was KTR and his party, BRS, that had failed in Telangana, allowing BJP to gain ground in the state. In the end, KTR’s attempt to troll Rahul Gandhi only ended up backfiring, with Congress leaders pointing out his own party’s humiliating defeat.
