Popular actress Laila has expressed her excitement about returning to Telugu cinema with the upcoming film Godari Gattupaina. She said the makers were keen on bringing her back, and credited director Subhash for making her comeback possible after several years away from Telugu films.
“Director Subhash brought me back to Telugu cinema after many years, and I’m happy that he insisted on having me in this film,” she said, adding that the entire team has been very supportive and pleasant to work with.
Laila also praised her co-stars Nidhhi Agerwal and Sumanth Prabhas, calling them talented performers and wishing them continued success. She urged audiences to support the film by watching it in theatres.
Laila made her Telugu debut with Egire Paavurama in 1997 and quickly rose to popularity with films like Pelli Chesukundam and Ugadi. She also appeared in notable films such as Pavitra Prema alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna and Khaidi Garu with Mohan Babu. Romantic entertainers like Subhakankshalu and Love Story 1999 further strengthened her fan base before she moved primarily to Kollywood, where she built a successful career.
Now, she joins the growing trend of yesteryear heroines returning to Telugu cinema in character roles. Recently, actress Laya made a comeback with Thammudu, while senior stars like Tabu, Ramya Krishnan, and Sukanya continue to play impactful supporting roles in modern Telugu films.
