Pawan Kalyan Gears Up to Revive Jana Sena’s Political Momentum

Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan is reportedly facing mounting pressure from party leaders and cadre to accelerate his political activity and strengthen the party ahead of the next elections.

The first four years under the coalition government are seen as one phase, but with the possibility of simultaneous elections being held earlier than expected, party members are urging Pawan to position Jana Sena as a stronger, more independent political force.

Over the past year, Pawan has largely focused on his ministerial portfolio, spending limited time on party affairs and taking few initiatives for the Kapu community since assuming office. Insiders say he used this period to understand the workings of his ministry, deliberately maintaining some distance from the public and cadre to avoid early missteps.

However, with his “honeymoon period” ending, criticism of his political performance has been growing. Even loyal Jana Sena leaders, once vocal in defending him on social media and in press conferences, have become unusually silent. Complaints are surfacing over the lack of appointments, financial difficulties for party workers, and a perceived lack of respect from coalition partners.

Fearing that such issues could weaken the party in the coming years, Pawan is said to have decided on a more proactive approach. He plans to meet key constituency leaders, assess local challenges, and bring them directly to chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s attention. He is also preparing to visit constituencies that have been neglected by coalition partners, aiming to boost local morale while sending a subtle warning to TDP leaders.

In addition, Pawan is expected to propose quarterly meetings of top leaders from all coalition parties to address recurring grievances. This move comes amid allegations that some TDP leaders are obstructing Jana Sena representatives from participating in welfare programs like pension distribution.

According to sources, Pawan will urge Naidu to take swift action on such matters, even if it requires summoning local leaders for discussions. In essence, the JSP chief appears to be laying out a fresh roadmap to revive party momentum and assert greater influence within the coalition.
