Contrary to long-standing speculation, Pranav Mohanlal, son of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, is not in a relationship with actress Kalyani Priyadarshan. The rumors, which gained traction after the duo’s onscreen chemistry in Hridayam, have now been put to rest by director Alleppey Ashraf.

Ashraf recently clarified the situation, revealing that Pranav is actually in a relationship with a woman from Germany. He shared that he spoke with Kalyani’s mother, Lissy, who confirmed that Pranav and Kalyani share a sibling-like bond and there’s no romantic involvement between them.

The gossip mill had been buzzing ever since Hridayam released, but things became clearer after Pranav was seen attending the Barroz screening with a foreign woman. The mystery woman, who accompanied Pranav and his family at the event, was also seen leaving the venue with him—further fueling speculation about their relationship status.

Known for his private nature, Pranav is currently living in Spain as part of a “Work Away” program, where he’s working on a farm and engaging in physical labor, including animal care. His mother, Suchitra, recently opened up about his lifestyle, saying that Pranav values meaningful experiences over material wealth. Despite receiving numerous film offers, he often turns them down to follow his passions, which include music, travel, and self-discovery.

Suchitra admitted that she encourages him to take up more acting roles, but Pranav remains selective and grounded. As for the fans who were rooting for a real-life romance between Pranav and Kalyani, director Ashraf had a simple message: “It’s time to move on.”
