Srinidhi Shetty Reflects on Ramayana Audition, Gears Up for HIT 3
Srinidhi Shetty is currently immersed in promotions for her upcoming thriller HIT 3, which is set for a grand release on May 1st. As excitement builds around the film, an interesting revelation has surfaced—Srinidhi was once the frontrunner to play Sita in Nitish Tiwari’s much-anticipated Ramayana, opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Sriram.
In a recent interview, Srinidhi confirmed that she was approached for the role and even went through an intense audition process. “I gave a screen test, prepared for three scenes, and the team seemed happy with my performance,” she shared. However, she also acknowledged a personal hesitation that stemmed from her iconic pairing with Yash in KGF Parts 1 and 2. “The love the audience had for us was immense. When the Ramayana offer came a few months after KGF 2, I thought—if Yash is playing Ravan and I’m playing Sita, we’d be cast against each other. That might be difficult for people to digest, having just seen us together with such affection,” she explained.
Ultimately, the role went to Sai Pallavi, a choice that Srinidhi wholeheartedly supports. “Sai Pallavi is an amazing performer. I think she’ll bring something really special to the role of Sita,” she said graciously.
Meanwhile, Srinidhi’s focus is firmly on HIT 3, where she plays a key character involved in a major plot twist. Promoting the film alongside co-star Nani, she appears confident and energized, although the team is keeping most story details tightly under wraps. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, parts of the intense thriller were shot in the scenic locales of Pahalgam, adding a unique visual layer to the mystery.
With HIT 3 on the horizon and her name being considered for high-profile projects, Srinidhi Shetty continues to make her mark as a versatile and thoughtful performer in Indian cinema.
