Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu who is attending World Economic Forum (WEF) annual summit in Davos, interacted with top corporate honchos like Wal Mart International President, David Cheesewright, Wipro Chairman Azim Premji, Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi and others.

He impressed upon them the benefits in the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh and invited them to visit the state and invest to avail the rich benefits and opportunities. He said Andhra Pradesh is number one in technology resources and asked them to come with investments and make optimum use of them.

He urged Wipro Chairman Premji to help in employment generation and skill development. He requested the company’s cooperation in setting up health facilities and reverse osmosis water plants as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

CEOs of Wal Mart and Pepsi Co too responded favourably and promised to help in building AP brand on various issues. CMO announced that soon all the CEOs will be visiting AP. Indra Nooyi will be visiting AP in March. Premji lavished praises on Babu for his statistics.

‘Talk only about cinema’, Swetha Basu fires

For the promotions of an upcoming film ‘Intelligent Idiots’, heroine Swetha Basu Prasad has landed in Hyderabad today. She has done only a spicy item number in the film but it seems like her never-ending craze has give the film’s makers no choice except to invite her for promotion.

That’s the power of some recent prostitution cases lodged against her which got quashed by the court anyway. Today when she interacted with Telugu media journalists, one journo asked her, “How is your career after prostitution case and the ensuing melee in courts?” Swetha snapped at the question in a miffed way. “Please ask questions related to movie but nothing else.

Talk only about cinema”, she said. Sadly, media always runs after sensationalism and maybe it is better to leave Swetha alone rather digging deep into the issue again and hurting her heart. Time to encourage the talented actress within her, rather curious about some wrapped up issues.

Guinness Record for Odarpu Yatra?

With YS Sharmila began her latest round of Odarpu Yatra in Telangana, mixed reactions are pouring in from all quarters. Nearly five-and-a-half years after the death of former CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy (Sep 2, 2009), his daughter turning up to relaunch Odarpu Yatra that too in Telangana is raising pertinent questions over the yatra.

The satire doing on the rounds over the yatra is that YSRCP is strongly trying for a “Guinness World Record” for the yatra and hence continuing the yatra unabatedly. A senior political analyst recently commented, “Perhaps, even Jagan’s grandson would do Odarpu Yatra for the death of his great grandfather in order to console the bereaved great grandsons/granddaughters of their great grandfather.”

He added that Odarpu Yatra is a “big farce” and became a “butt of jokes”. Another political observer felt that Jagan’s latest idea of “Paramarsa Yatra” to console families of farmers who committed suicides would be far more “practical” and “hold significance” rather than doing a “Odarpu Yatra”. Even Sharmila’s idea to go on Odarpu Yatra seems to be not going well with a section of YSRCP leaders and activists and silently expressing their displeasure over party.

“It’s better to do yatra on the plight of people and their woes. At least, party would gains people’s support for such activities. Activities like Odarpu Yatra would only distance people from party,” opined a YSRCP leader on condition of anonymity. All these opinions, suggestions from analysts and party leaders seem to have falling on the deaf ears of its party president YS Jagan and his top brass.

Though Jagan and his party has very less strength in Telangana, post carving out of the new state, Sharmila resorting to Odarpu Yatra is considered as a “poor” publicity stunt gone wrong in every way. It’s high time Jagan & Co should reconcile over resorting to such public programmes as they might end up losing people’s trust if it all is any.

Taapsee’s last appearance in Telugu is opposite Gopichand’s Sahasam. She has a bilingual film, Muni-3 opposite Raghava Lawerence pending release for the past one year for various reason. Taapsee’s spot in Telugu was almost occupied by remaining heroines. She may now have to find some success in Bollywood and settle down there itself.

Contrary to the flash news being spread on Telugu Channels popular comedian MS Narayana is still battling for life but haven’t passed away. It seems like sensationalism bitten media houses are playing with sentiments of Cinema lovers by carrying false news that MS is died.

The ace comedian is fine for now, getting diagnosed for Malaria at Kondapur KIMS hospital from last two days. However few media houses have started publicising that MS is no more, but there is no truth in it.

Speaking with media, the ace comedian turned writer’s son Vikram confirmed that their father is alive. Also he requested media to not speculate such rumours without consenting the family. Even doctors from KIMS confirmed the same, but clarified that MS’ position is quite critical as the infection got extended to lungs.

Pawan got 15 crores, Venky just 6.5 crores!!

It is reliably learnt that Pawan Kalyan has received his share of remuneration from the profits reaped by the movie ‘Gopala Gopala’. As the flick has done exceptionally well in the Sankranthi season amassing more than 40+ crores share in Andhra and Telangana itself, insiders revealed how the star heroes have cut the pie to distribute the bounty.

Though producer Suresh Babu has kept silent about sharing the box office figures of Pawan, Venky starrer Gopala Gopala, trade circles have left the accounts book open. From the film’s profits, Pawan Kalyan got a whopping share of 15 crores as his remuneration, while his friend Sharath Marar, a producer of the flick, got 5 crores.

Coming to Venky, he will be walking away with 6.5 crores of share as part of his pay packet. Both Pawan and Venky have decided to take remuneration for the film only from profits and this is what profits paid them, says a source in the know.

Suresh Babu has however remained tight lipped about these sharing of revenues and reaping of profits. Into its 13th day of run at box office, Gopala Gopala witnessed huge drops post Sankranthi season, but collections are steady.

With news that AP CM and TDP Boss Chandrababu Naidu is planning to tour Warangal district in TS next month, TRS has started firing as usual.

TRS leaders are vouching that they would obstruct Chandrababu from entering Warangal district. When quizzed by the media about why there was no resistance to Sharmila’s ongoing paramarsa yathraa in TS but why are they firing on TDP, TRS leaders have revealed that Sharmila and her party is of no significance to them at all.

Recently Jagan had announced that his party will grab power in TS too by 2019 but the cadre is asking Jagan to take serious note of this. Even Pro-Jagan media has stated openly that the time has come for him to shed his secret alliance with TRS and become active if he wants to be in action again!
